Private Rooms and Cottages

Nestled atop the landscape are eight unique cottages and our newly renovated Main lodge all with Adirondack mountain and lake views.

The Main Lodge at Elk Lake, built in 1904, is a typical rustic example of Adirondack architecture featuring a large fieldstone fireplace with Adirondack and Craft Movement furniture and is home to the Elk Lake Lodge dining room. The lodge offers six comfortable rooms; one with a queen bed and five with twin beds and all have private baths.

Eight private cottages are within walking distance of the Main Lodge and all have Adirondack mountain and Elk Lake views. Each cottage is unique, varying in size and offering seclusion for one couple or larger groups. Each Adirondack cottage has a living room and modern bath and most have a fireplace, giving you all the comforts of home while staying in the remote Adirondack wilderness.

What to Expect

It all begins with dinner on the day of your arrival. After a restful first night in your Adirondack-inspired accommodation, come on down to the Main Lodge for a made-to-order, hearty breakfast. If you wish to go for a hike or paddle, we will send you a trail lunch to go. Otherwise, you’re welcome to relax around the preserve for the day. You can soak in the high peaks view with a gentle yoga practice on the dock, (offered daily), or return to your private cottage for some peace and quiet. Come on back to the Main Lodge for afternoon tea & pastries and check out a book from our library. In the evenings, we serve happy hour cheese and crackers with wine and beer available for purchase followed by dinner in the Main Lodge. All stays include breakfast and lunch on the day of departure.
