Adirondack fishing Trip
FISH
May heralds ice out when the trout are waking up from their long winter’s nap and BOY, are they HUNGRY! Trolling from one of our provided row boats, kayaks, or canoes works well. Bring your electric motor, the only type of motor allowed in our protected waters.
June is typically black fly season, so the lunkers are gobbling them up, along with other insects on the water. This is a good time of year to cast from a boat, or troll as well.
July/August, when temperatures rise in Elk Lake the fish have gone deeper. Challenge yourself to land one of these elusive but satisfying catches or head to Clear Pond where the water temperature stays cooler all season long.
September/October the water temperature is cooling off and the fishing pace quickens again.
Three Private and Pristine Waterways
Elk Lake, a 600-acre lake with inlets, islands, and weedy beds boasts the Dix Heritage strain of brook trout, the only one of its kind in the world.
Clear Pond is a 200-acre deep kettle pond, with a variety of lake trout, land-locked salmon, and brook trout.
The Branch River is the outlet of Elk Lake and offers several productive fly fishing opportunities. Cast below the dam, rock- hop or wade the oxbow.
