Over the last few years the lodge has undergone some major preservation of its over hundred year old building. The work on the lodge was done by High Peaks Builders who championed this challenging work over several years. We raised the roof and enlarged and updated the second floor's six guest rooms.
Most recently we rebuilt the ancient bones of the structure by digging down to the dirt and boulders of the foundation. Modern plumbing, electricity, HVAC etc. were all accomplished. The logs on the main floor were all removed and like a jigsaw returned to their orginal positions. We added a library/game room and a spacious outdoor deck all in keeping with the orginal structure. Hilltop Inc. rebuilt the adjoining structure of the dining room with air conditioning and the kitchen with all modern equipment.
Every effort was made in design and construction to retain the original look of the building, and although long-term guests will notice differences, the bones and details are the same as they were over a hundred years ago.
